The Hand
Create after appreciating.
The Goldfinch helps members make studies, moodboards, commission briefs, and room concepts from principles, not copies.
01
Choose the source
Start from an artwork, room, object, or mood rather than a living artist's surface style.
02
Extract the principle
Name structure: palette, rhythm, edge, pause, proportion, material, or constraint.
03
Make a study
Create within the constraint, then critique scale and composition before embellishing.
04
Return to the artist
Keep the artist elevated through context, attribution, and the original work path.
The Goldfinch
Curator, wall reader, teacher, studio guide.
Recommendation logic
The first question is scale. Send wall width, furniture width, and light direction. If the work sits over furniture, start at two-thirds of the furniture width and test the frame depth before choosing the image.
